Read more about the Watchfield Opticians journey:

The business was originally called Precision Eyewear and was set up as an outlet to the Precision Optical glazing lab that was situated on the Shrivenham 100 retail park.

Ian who is one of our Optometrists, worked as a locum for Precision Eyewear.  In 2010 Ian bought into the business and it was renamed 'Watchfield Opticians'.

Watchfield Opticians invested in OCT screening equipment – one of the first practices in the area to be able to offer this advanced screening service.

Hearing care clinics started on alternate Mondays meaning that Watchfield Opticians really could be more than just and Eye Test.

When Covid hit it was decided to remain open albeit on shorter hours with skeleton staff in order to service the emergency optical needs of other healthcare professionals and provide emergency appointments and spectacle repairs for our patients and reassurance at the end of the phone.

Ian was joined by Optometrist Raman Aggarwal which now enables greater Optometric cover for up to 6 days per week.

Our team grew and we were joined be Helen, closely followed by Tanya and then Jeeta, and Saturday staff Elsa and Kesiya

Having always had a great relationship with our neighbours The Defence Academy - The Armed Forces Covenant was signed.
